You will never find men carrying these items with them, who are content with a wallet filled with cash and credit cards.

With a purse always by her side, it does not imply that women have some kind of purse carrying genes in their body. Since they play the biological role of caregiver in the family, they develop the habit of playing the role of making sure that everything and everyone around is in order both physical and psychological. Nobody can bring an order in the entire world but everyone makes a small contribution towards making the world an ordered and organized place to live in. This care giving instinct of females for the family basically translates into the urge to make the world around her ordered having all the basic necessities for the people around her, and hence this habit of carrying a handbag with her almost always.
